par·ent
–noun
- a source, origin, or cause.
- a protector or guardian.
So I think that I have two sets of parents as they both fall into the definition. One set is my source or origin (mother & father) and the others was my protector or guardian (mum & dad) when I was growing up.
Actually I don't think that you really grow up until you loose your parents, they should be some people who you can always talk to and feel 'warm & cosy' when they are about. But just like your own children they can be annoying.

To my Mother & Father. (Who are the people who are my blood parents)
Thank you.
You let me arrive into this world.
It is you that I am made from.
You are the foundation that made me.
I understand why you had to give me up. It must have been so hard.
I am just so glad that I have been able to contact you at long last. It was a part of me that I always felt was missing.
To my Mum & Dad. (Who are the people who brought me up from only a few months old.)
Thank you.
You chose me, and after me you still chose to adopt two others. This made us a family.
You looked after me.
You have always tried to help me whenever you can.
It is you who helped me become what I am.
You have always supported me, even when I have not done what you think is the ‘right thing’
We have had our disagreements, but all children do with there parents.
